Ta Keo temple, which means “The patriarch’s crystal”, has been built as the touchstone of the edification of Angkor Wat. Its construction started in the early 11th century but as the king (Jayavarman V) died suddenly, it has been left unfinished.
Bayon Temple is located in the center of the city of Angkor Thom. Built in late 12th century, it became famous thanks to the faces of Avalokitesvara (the bodhisattva of compassion) which arbore a gentle smile. If you come here after having visited Angkor Wat, you will certainly be able to feel the soothing atmosphere of the Bayon Temple.
